Freedom to Share Your Light!

Jun 29, 2018 | JVP's Blog

This week we celebrate 4th of July in the USA, and to honor the true spirit of independence, I want to give a big shout-out to my advanced mediumship group and to all of my students.

I remember when the realization struck that I had the ability to share messages from beyond and heal people’s grief – forever altering their feelings about life and death. Choosing this path meant shifting my career plans and risking the judgment of others, but the voice of Spirit was so strong that I pushed my fear aside and took the leap.

I’ve never regretted it!

I encourage my students to follow their own path and honor their unique gifts. Everyone has a beautiful light to share, so this Independence Day and every day remind yourself to let the real YOU shine through.

Your path might be to stand on a stage and deliver messages from the Other Side. You might be a natural healer, a coach, or a writer who can inspire people with your words. Whatever your destiny, I’m sending you the courage to pursue it.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be featuring my advanced level students on my blog, radio show and at live events across the nation. I look forward to helping them share their spark with the world.

To start things off, I’d like to share this blog from my Mediumship Level 3 Student, Brandi Khan:

5 Ways to Stay Positive Around Negative People

Guest Blog by Brandi Khan

Encountering negative energy can quickly take you out of a calm and centered space. Regardless of whom it’s from, negativity can bring you down and lower your energy.  Therefore, it is important to learn how to remain positively centered and grounded in your own energy, even when dealing with difficult people.

Here are 5 easy ways to maintain your positive outlook:

  1. Take Nothing Personally

The actions of other people really have nothing to do with you — it’s all about them!  We have all been conditioned to perceive the world differently and thus can project our beliefs and assumptions onto others.  For example, you may have been conditioned by your parents to believe that people who have tattoos are bad.  Therefore, you may treat someone with tattoos with suspicion–even if you know nothing about them–because you project your beliefs and assumptions upon them.

When someone directs negativity towards you, they are dealing with their own beliefs and assumptions.  Personally internalizing their actions is like eating their “poison” or emotional garbage.  So, don’t take people’s negative behavior personally.  You are not a dumping ground for emotional waste from other people!

  1. No Judgment Here

Someone behaving in a less than ideal manner does not necessarily mean that they are a bad person–no person can behave in a way that exceeds their current level of growth and understanding.  Often, negative behavior signifies that a person has room to grow in certain areas.  They are on their path of learning about the consequences of their actions and thoughts.

If you judge people who behave negativity, you essentially bring yourself down to their level.  So, stay above the fray and try your best not to judge others based on their behavior.

  1.  Compassion Works!

Many times, those who intentionally hurt others are dealing with inner emotional pain, perhaps suffering a loss or reacting out of their own disempowerment.  Changing our view of “negative people” to “hurting people” may help us to remain positive and show compassion.

  1. Remember to Breathe!

Rapid, shallow breaths when facing adversity may signal the “fight or flight” response of an adrenaline spike.  In this state, it is difficult to remain centered.  Breathing deeply helps to oxygenate your brain and body, which allows you to consciously respond rather than blindly reacting.

  1. White Light to the Rescue

You can leave negative encounters feeling drained; you must protect your personal energy field so that you don’t begin to match the vibration of the energy around you.  How?  Surround yourself with white light!  Keep your feet are flat on the floor, take three deep breaths, and imagine yourself in a bubble of sparkling, white light.  Like a brick wall, this white light will bar lower energy from affecting you.

The amazing thing about life is that we all have choices. You can choose whether others dictate your emotional terrain, or not. So stand tall in your personal power and refuse to let others steal your sunshine!
