To help maintain a comfortable chatting experience, there are six different chat rooms which you may enjoy on my chat site. The rooms are:
- LOBBY = The first room you enter when logging into my chat site. From the Lobby, you may be greeted by a Chat Room Operator (Op) and then you may select which other chat room you'd like to enter for general chatting. Visitors are requested not to sit in the Lobby room to chat.
- COMMUNITY = A room to gather and enjoy general chatting.
- QUIET ROOM = A room for those who wish to talk away from busier rooms.
- PRAYER = A room where visitors may gather together to share in a prayer or meditation, or talk away from busier rooms.
- FRIVOLITY = A room for those who wish to share more joyful and fun energy.
- SPECIAL EVENT = A room which will be available only when a special speaking event is planned.
- Op Room = Private room for JVP Ops.
The chat room Ops, or monitors, answer any questions you may have regarding the web site or my work. They are also a great wealth of knowlede and understanding on a spiritual topics of interest. They troubleshoot negative situations that may occur in the chat areas. Administrative features are used which allow them to handle abusive visitors or disruptive situations helping to maintain the spiritual and friendly atmosphere.
To go from one chat room to another, simply click the Rooms icon at the top of you chat screen and a rooms list will appear. Click the "Join" button next to the room you wish to enter. Please note: Once you click the Join button you will exit out of the current room you are visiting.
When I'm in the Chat Room, my username is JVP and my name appears at the top of the name list in the same area as the administrator and the Chat Ops' usernames. I also have a purple heart icon next to my username.
Yes, to maintain the spiritual environment, all chat areas are regulated by on-site operators, or Chat Ops. These Ops check in on the chat areas throughout the day. If you are in need of assistance while visiting the chat areas, please refer to the Op who may be monitoring or refer to the various informational pages located in the chat room page. There are also many loving and caring visitors who frequent the chat areas that may be of assistance to you.
Yes, I do pop into my Chat Room from time to time to say hello and enjoy a quick chat. And as these visits are spur-of-the-moment, I do not have a set schedule. If a visit will be planned in advance, it will appear on my Calendar page and an email will be sent to those on my Mailing List.
When I am in the Chat Room I simply wish to enjoy sharing a friendly chat with everyone. Giving a reading in the Chat Room is not only difficult, it would also be disappointing for those who are not able to receive a reading. I appreciate the understanding by all visitors of my wishes in this situation and in not asking me for readings when I'm in the chat room.
There are chat events scheduled throughout the year where I will share readings. These Special Chats will be posted on my Calendar page and emails will be sent out announcing the events.
The JVP Chat Site gets very busy. Like any "reception area," the JVP Lobby room is just for greeting chat guests. The Lobby was created to make it comfortable for Ops and other chat guests to greet new visitors and introduce them to the chat site features. The Lobby also allows regular visitors to find out what is happening on the chat site that day before choosing a chat room to enjoy. From the Lobby it is easy to enter any of the other 4 chat rooms available for general chatting by clicking the Rooms icon located at the top of your chat screen and "Joining" any of the other rooms.
To send a private message to another chatter, left click their nick on the names list. An option box appears. Select "Request Private Chat." An "invitation" will be sent to that chatter. Once they accept your invitation you are able to go to a private chat screen to chat.
When you enter a Private Chat you will exit out of the chat room you are visiting.
Whatever you type in the private window will only be seen by you and the chatter to whom you sent the private invitation.
To exit out of the Private Chat click the Rooms icon located at the top of your chat screen and "Join" one of the chat rooms.
As it clearly states in the Chat Room Policies, giving, receiving or asking for readings in the room is strictly not allowed...not in the open chat and NOT in private message.
There are many chat friends new to the JVP site who wonder why a chat room based on psychic/mediumship and spiritual ideals would not allow readings.
The reasons for this are very simple...it is for YOUR internet safety and for liability issues toward James Van Praagh.
JVP has a site focused on everyone learning for themselves how to connect with loved ones, finding healing from grief, and, most importantly, developing a connection with their own higher self. While this valuable learning is available you will also have a wonderful support system of a caring and knowledgeable family of friends who will encourage your healing, growing and learning.
This empowers YOU. And what a wonderful thing that is.
For those who visit the chat room who are just starting to recognize their psychic intuition, the chat room is a wonderful place to ask questions about what you are experiencing, receive advice and instruction from others who are more knowledgeable about psychic development, and have a safe environment to come to as you develop.
The Web Site Administrators and Moderators take the "No-Reading Policy" VERY seriously and it is enforced. You will be banned for offering readings and giving readings...especially when Ops and other chatters inform you of the No-Reading Policy. They do so because they care about the chat room and for the safety of innocent visitors.
There are many web sites with chat rooms that do allow anyone to give free readings to anyone else who wants one. If you do a Google search you will easily find such sites. Just be cautious who you allow to connect with your personal, spiritual self. There can be alot of emotional harm from receiving readings from annoymous people on the internet.
