The Journey of Janet Nohavec

Jan 9, 2021 | JVP's Blog

My friendship with Reverend Janet Nohavec began decades ago when she reached out after seeing me on television. Like me, Janet was a practicing medium before it became a household word. I remember how she complimented me on my bravery in putting myself out there at a time when there was so much controversy and criticism around mediumship. We quickly bonded over our interest in the spiritual world and our commitment to providing evidence of the afterlife.

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Janet onstage, and I’m always impressed by the depth and detail of her readings. She takes her gift seriously, tutoring aspiring mediums at the prestigious Arthur Findlay College in Stansted, England.

Janet and I have a lot in common besides our gift. Like me, she was born a medium, and was aware of the presence of spirit from a young age. We were both raised in the Catholic church, and while I had aspirations to join the priesthood, Janet actually spent five years as a Roman Catholic nun. After leaving the convent, she felt drawn to work on her mediumship and spent years training to develop her gift.

She is co-founder of the Journey Within School for Mediumship and is also pastor and founder of The Journey Within Spiritualist’s National Union Church – the first church in the United States to be affiliated with the Spiritualist National Union based in the United Kingdom.

Janet was drawn to the Spiritualist church for a lot of reasons – she loved the fact that everyone was accepted, and that the philosophy was love based without the fear and dogma she had previously associated with organized religion. In the spiritualist church, Janet felt accepted, and empowered to develop all of her God given gifts, including her special connection with the Spirit realm.

So, when Janet invited me to host a weekend workshop through The Journey Within, I immediately said yes!  I’m  happy to have the chance to support the mission of the Spiritualist’s National Union Church. And of course, I’ve really missed my live weekend workshops – there’s nothing that makes me happier than spending a couple of days sharing my soul-based teachings with a small group of spiritual seekers.

My workshop, Blending With the Power of Spirit, will be virtual – Instead of sharing the space physically, we will be connecting through Zoom (where would we be during this pandemic without Zoom?). The two-day course will be held on Saturday January 17th – Sunday, January 18th.

Anyone interested in expanding their mediumship skills is welcome!

You’ll gain hands-on experience as you:

  • Gain confidence in your relationship with the spirit world
  • Understand the blending process with Spirit.
  • Practice and connect with other developing mediums.

Let’s share the space together online! I look forward to teaching you my mediumship techniques, and helping you learn to connect with the spirit world at will.
